Huggo’s on the Rocks
Huggo’s is on the oceanfront and offers amazing views with amazing drinks and food. This is the best place for grabbing drinks in Kona!
There is the main restaurant, and a smaller outdoor one located next door. The one I recommend visiting is “Huggo’s on the Rocks” which is the outdoor portion of the restaurant and has a more relaxed environment.
If you are looking for some of the best drinks with views, then look no further than Huggo’s. If you arrive early enough you can get one of the tables along “the rocks”. This is just the rocky side that leads into the ocean.
Enjoy sunset out over Kona with one of their large cocktails. There is a large variety list of drinks to order and an additional large menu of food to enjoy with the drinks. If you haven’t tried the poke yet – here is a great location to get some fresh poke!
Humpy’s Big Island Alehouse
If you are like me – and sometimes show back up to your hotel late at night – then this is a location that you may want to keep on your list.
Surprisingly a lot of locations in Kona close around 9 pm. That means, if you are out adventuring all day there will not be many options of places left to grab some drinks – or dinner.
This alehouse is open until 2 am making it a great location to grab some late-night drinks AND FOOD!
The list of beers at this alehouse makes it definitely worth a visit – with almost an entire page of just beer. You will be able to get all the local Hawai’i beers here as well – so if you want to try all the beers then this is the perfect location to do this.
If you get the munchies while drinking then there is a large menu to choose from – the focus being mainly on American food.
Opt for a table outside, and be able to look out over the ocean just across the road.
Kona Brewing Company
Perfect place for those people who love trying the local beer! This establishment is also just great for grabbing drinks in Kona as this brewing company does not disappoint. There are the options to of course enjoy beers by the pint, or to just get some samplers (since it is so hard to choose from all the options!)
There is a large list of beers to sample from this brewing company. Therefore, I personally opted for sample after sample which was, in my opinion, the best route to go.
I will warn you though, this brewing company is popular! I went during lunchtime and there was a waitlist for a table. There were about ten people waiting to be seated. However, the bar area is open seating and that includes all the tables around the bar. If you want to try your luck with that then you may be able to slip in during a rush hour if you are lucky.
