Tropical Nights: Waikiki’s Happy Hour and Nightlife Delights

Waikiki is known for the nightlife – but should also be known for the deals with happy hour in Waikiki. Enjoy days in the beautiful lush mountains and hills of Oahu, or at the pristine beaches – but most importantly end the day with some great beer or cocktail. So here is a list of places that are worth checking out during a stay in Waikiki.

Mai Tai at the Royal Hawaiian

I think this location is one of the most popular places to visit if you are looking for a famous Mai Tai. There are actually a couple of Mai Tai locations to partake in!

This bar has pages of drink options to fill whatever your fruity desire is.

The best part is that it is right on the beachfront! So you can sip that Mai Tai while enjoying the sunset.

The location can be a bit difficult to find – my recommendation is to find the location by walking along the Waikiki Beach and you will find the bright colored umbrellas that is Mai Tai right before the end of the beach walk. (heading west that is).

Number of Mai Tai Options: 7

Number of Other Drink Options: 14

Happy Hour: No Happy Hour option

Address: 2259 Kalakaua Ave, Honolulu, HI 96815, United States

Price: $$ – moderately priced but you are getting cocktails! Expect to be spending approximately $15 for the drinks though.

RumFire

Waikiki is known for the nightlife - but should also be known for the deals with happy hour in Waikiki. If you are looking to do a bit of a “bar crawl”. Then this is a great location to visit after Mai Tai Bar. Located just down the beach from Mai Tai is another great cocktail option of RumFire.

This bar offers some great outdoor seating and indoor seating along the bar. Fitting with the name there are numerous fire pits to give it that “fiery touch”.

In the evenings there is typically a performance such as cover songs being featured in the main bar area.

Enjoy the numerous drink options and some fancy food options at this location.

This location also turns into a nightclub on the weekends!

Happy Hour: Everyday from 3 pm to 5 pm.

Drinks $5 to $7

Number of Cocktails: 18

Other Drink Options: Up to 10 options in Beer and Wine

Duke’s Waikiki

Waikiki is known for the nightlife - but should also be known for the deals with happy hour in Waikiki. Enjoy days in the beautiful lush mountains and hills of Oahu, or at the pristine beaches – but most importantly end the day with some great beer or cocktail. So here is a list of places that are worth checking out during a stay in Waikiki. #cocktails #breweries #waikiki #hawaii #oahu

Did you really visit Waikiki if you didn’t stop to check out the famous Duke’s?

This is also along the Waikiki beach meaning you could add it to your crawl with RumFire and Mai Tai. However, this will be the busiest of all the above-listed locations. Your best option is trying to get a seat out on the patio and stick to the “bar and snack food” option.

The walls are pretty high at Duke’s though, so you will not be able to see much oceanfront from the patio.

The crowd alone may deter some people from visiting – so if you don’t like crowds then this is definitely an option to skip.

However, the drinks and food are good. Try the fish tacos if you want to grab a light snack before checking out the other bars on the Waikiki Beach.

Cocktail Options: 14

Happy Hour: 4 pm – 7 pm

Other Drink Options: This location has the most beer and wine options.

Address: 2335 Kalakaua Ave #116, Honolulu, HI 96815, United States

Maui Brewing Co. Waikiki

Waikiki is known for the nightlife - but should also be known for the deals with happy hour in Waikiki. This ended up being one of my favorite establishments and some of the best happy hour in Waikiki. There were plenty of food options – but most importantly a great long beer list.

I opted to sit at the bar, and the bartenders are incredibly helpful and even provided suggestions for things to do around in the area – and even other bars to check out.

My favorite part is that the brewing company offers samplers. So, you can try all the beers on the menu to determine a favorite for the rest of the night.

My one warning would be the crowds – during the weekend this location is incredibly busy. There will be limited table space and unless you are solo traveling trying to find seats at the bar is hit and miss. However, during the weekday it is not as busy.

Added bonus? Just across the street from Waikiki Beach, so if you haven’t noticed already – everything is centrally located.

Waikiki Brewing Company

This brewing company is located outside of the main central Waikiki city that the other locations on this list are at. Therefore, if you want to visit this location be prepared to walk for approximately 10-15 minutes in order to reach it from central Waikiki.

However, this is another great brewery to check out if you are a hop fan. My favorite part is the overall design of the brewery where you are able to see the kegs and canisters behind the bar – giving it a more classic brewery fill. Also, the breweries seem to know how to do happy hour in Waikiki.

The fact that it is outside of the central area also assist with the crowds – as it is far less crowded than the establishments located in downtown Waikiki.

Finally, if you are visiting from overseas you can have the honor of trying some American “Fried Pickles”, which is exactly as it sounds – deep-fried pickle slices. The fried pickles are quick amazing with some beers!

Happy Hour: 3 pm to 5 pm, $5 pints of the core beers

Number of Beers: 9 – you can grab some cans to go as well.
